Three-car accident causes several injuries

On Behalf of Fishman & Fishman, LLC | Mar 28, 2023 | Car Accidents |

New Jersey is a state filled with many busy roads and highways, which increases the risk of accidents. Sometimes, the cause of an accident is not immediately apparent, but car accidents are usually due to some type of driver negligence.

A state trooper was among the injured

Recently, a three-car accident on Route 42 in Gloucester Township resulted in injuries to three people, one of whom was a New Jersey state trooper. The accident occurred when the trooper’s vehicle collided with another vehicle near Exit 8 for Clementon Blackwood Road.

Another accident involving state troopers also occurred last month. In that accident, a tow truck crashed into three police vehicles who were blocking another accident scene.

There were flares on the road and the officers had their vehicle’s emergency lights on. Although there were no injuries in that crash, the tow truck driver received a citation for careless driving.

These incidents emphasize how important it is to watch out for negligent drivers on the roads.

Common types of negligent driving

There are many forms of negligent driving, including distracted driving, drunk driving, speeding and disobeying traffic laws.

If you are involved in a car accident, stay calm and take care of any immediate injuries or medical needs. Get the contact and insurance information of the other person involved in the accident. Call the police and have a report made and keep a copy of the report.

When you are injured in an accident with a negligent driver, you have a long, tough road ahead. Injuries can be painful, expensive to treat and take a long time to heal.

After you have seen a doctor and have a better idea of the extent of your injuries, you should consider talking to a personal injury attorney, who can advise you on potential compensation for your damages.
