New Jersey car accidents: Father killed by out-of-control driver

A community is mourning the loss of a dedicated father. His six-year-old daughter will be forever scarred as she watched in horror as her father was struck and mortally injured. An out-of-control driver slammed into the New Jersey man and his child as they were leaving the YMCA. When car accidents such as this have fatal outcomes, the family members may seek legal compensation for the child.

The accident occurred in South Amboy, where police say a 53-year-old driver hit the man and crashed into the front doors of the facility. The victim was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His daughter was also injured, but her injuries were reported as non-life threatening. The driver of the car was listed in stable condition at the hospital.

A neighbor described the man as a very nice guy who was always with his child. The mayor said it is a tragedy and no one can imagine what the family is going through. Detectives from South Amboy Police Department and Middlesex County Prosecutors Office said the investigation is active and ongoing.

Now, a young girl will grow up without her father by her side, and the reason the accident happened is still unknown. The loss for this family can be financially devastating with funeral expenses and the loss of future income. Families of New Jersey residents who are involved in fatal car accidents may choose to consult with a personal injury attorney to pursue a wrongful death claim.
