Tried And True Attorneys Standing Up For The Injured Since 1965

2 trucks, 1 car involved in fatal New Jersey accident

On Behalf of | Jan 18, 2018 | Truck Accidents |

Three vehicles were involved in a car crash in Mount Olive, New Jersey yesterday, leaving two people dead. No information was provided about the survivors of the crash — the drivers of two trucks — but the occupants of a smaller Honda car were killed in the wreck. Details are sparse on how the crash happened, but we do know that it happened on Route 80 and that it occurred around 4:30 p.m.

The crash is under investigation, and there will be a lot of questions about what was going on with the two trucks involved in this crash. Were the truck drivers sleepy in the build-up to the crash? Were there mechanical issues with the vehicles? Were the drivers operating their vehicles in a safe manner?

All of these questions will be answered with time. The investigation into a motor vehicle accident  — may it involve cars or trucks, pedestrians or bicyclists — usually takes weeks to be revealed. Once released, the people involved in the crash (or their loved ones) could use the result of the investigation to support any legal claims that they may make. If a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit is pursued after a car accident, the police investigation into the crash will play a crucial role.

In the meantime, it is important for car accident victims to know their legal rights after the accident and to protect their interests going forward.
