Motor vehicle accidents can occur at any time and for a variety of reasons. In New Jersey, multiple families are grieving for loved ones who died or were injured in an early morning crash. A chain reaction of car accidents set off a fiery blaze that killed two people and injured six others.

The accident shut down a major thoroughfare in Edison shortly after 6:00 a.m. State police reported that two cars were possibly involved in a fender bender and were pulled over onto the shoulder of the road. Police theorize that another vehicle may have crashed into the scene, causing a chain reaction pileup of at least seven cars. Witnesses claim that the cars burst into flames from the crash, and the fire was so intense that it rose higher than the trees.

All six people who survived the fiery crash were taken to area hospitals. Their current conditions are unknown, but their injuries were reported to be non-life threatening. For hours, helicopters hovered over the scene capturing the mangled, burned-out wreck. The massive cleanup undertaking has caused hours and hours of delays for travelers.

Car accidents can have devastating effects on everyone involved. Survivors will be scarred forever by the images ingrained in their minds of the fiery crash. There may be expensive medical treatment and therapy along with emotional and financial concerns. In New Jersey, those who are injured as the result of someone else’s negligence may be entitled to compensation for the losses they sustained. Those faced with a long road to recovery may benefit from speaking with a personal injury attorney to answer questions and provide direction.
