Car accidents: 2 drivers seriously injured in East Brunswick

On Behalf of | Aug 15, 2017 | Car Accidents |

Two New Jersey women suffered serious injuries when their vehicles collided in the early evening of a recent Wednesday. This appears to have been just one of several car accidents on a particular road in East Brunswick. Law enforcement has launched an investigation into the crash.

A preliminary accident report indicates that the collision occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. when a driver in a car heading east attempted to turn left onto another road. However, it appears she failed to yield and turned directly into the path of a westbound SUV. The SUV smashed into the left-turning sedan.

Both drivers were rushed to a hospital with unknown injuries that were said to be serious. Reportedly, a juvenile passenger in the SUV was unhurt. No mention was made of any criminal charges pending, but the Special Operations Division of the East Brunswick Police Department is leading the ongoing investigation.

New Jersey victims of car accidents that were caused by another party or parties can pursue claims for financial relief by filing personal injury lawsuits. The civil court bases personal injury claims on proof of negligence; in this case, the driver’s failure to yield to the oncoming vehicle may be sufficient. Establishing negligence can sometimes be challenging, and most victims choose to rely upon the help of an experienced personal injury attorney. A lawyer assist with securing the necessary evidence of negligence to present to the court, as well as proof of financial losses sustained. A successful lawsuit could result in a monetary judgment to cover all documented monetary damages.
