Recent drunk driving accidents: Two-car crash leaves one dead

| Sep 15, 2015 | Drunk Driving Accidents |

As many New Jersey residents know, being involved in drunk driving accidents can be one of life’s most difficult experiences. When they occur, drunk driving accidents can be difficult to deal with as they can happen in a second, but their ramifications can be felt for months, years or even lifetimes. A recent car accident resulted in serious injuries.

The accident occurred in Old Bridge on a recent Sunday in September around 3:38 a.m. It involved two cars and resulted in one fatality and three individuals suffering injuries. According to the authorities, it happened when a sedan driven by a 38-year-old woman collided with another sedan driven by a 19-year-old woman.

According to the Old Bridge Police Department, the first sedan crossed the double yellow line and crashed into another sedan head-on. A 30-year-old male passenger in the rear seat of the first sedan suffered serious injuries that he succumbed to at the scene of the accident. The driver, who was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the crash, as well as a 36-year-old woman in her car were rushed to local medical centers. The driver of the second sedan was also rushed to a local medical center and currently remains hospitalized there.

Currently, the alleged drunk driver is facing charges related to this fatal accident. Victims of drunk driving accidents are entitled to file a personal injury claim to obtain financial relief against the driver believed to have been at fault. A successfully navigated lawsuit may result in the entry of monetary judgment, and any restitution paid may be used to help alleviate the inherent financial burdens that victims of these kinds of accidents typically incur. Victims of drunk driving accidents in New Jersey typically consult a personal injury attorney in order to determine the validity of a legal claim as well as for ongoing support while they seek justice through the civil justice system.
