New Jersey motorcycle accidents often result in serious injuries

On Behalf of | May 7, 2015 | Motorcycle Accidents |

Motorcycles represent the epitome of vehicular freedom to many people. However, that thrill comes with inherent danger, as even the most experienced of riders can be put in dangerous situations when people operating motor vehicles around them are not paying attention. Since motorcyclists have little protection, motorcycle accidents rarely end well. An accident that took place in New Jersey in the last week of April resulted in a man being sent to the hospital.

The collision took place in Secaucus in the early evening. According to the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, a sedan and motorcycle collided as they both tried to merge onto the same roadway. The sedan, driven by a 52-year-old man from a neighboring state hit the motorcyclist, a 25-year-old man from Clifton, New Jersey.

The collision’s initial impact threw the motorcyclist from his motorcycle. According to the sheriff’s report, both the motorcyclist and his motorcycle slid around 300 feet and crossed three traffic lanes. He was rushed to a nearby medical center with serious injuries. He is currently in stable condition.

Motorcycles can bring riders a great sense of joy when ridden safely. However, injuries sustained from motorcycle accidents tend to be severe. Between the distress that the injuries cause and the medical expenses often incurred following motorcycle accidents in New Jersey, the results can be devastating to victims’ finances. However, a skilled personal injury attorney can assist a victim of an accident that was caused by a negligent driver as he or she pursues compensation for his or her injuries.
