A New Jersey man recently died in a motorcycle accident after colliding with a vehicle. The Wharton man died on a recent Tuesday in June, the police said. When motorcycle accidents occur that are caused by the negligence of other drivers, victims or their families, depending on the situations, may seek to file either personal injury suits or wrongful death claims against the drivers.

The fatal accident occurred in Morris County.  Police say that around 4:30 p.m. Jefferson Township police were called to the scene of an accident along Route 15. According to the initial investigation, the motorcycle involved in the accident had been operated by a 46-year-old Wharton man.

The police determined that the motorcycle was traveling south when a vehicle that was being driven by a 17-year-old female struck it. First responders performed CPR on the motorcyclist and then transported him to a local hospital, where he was then pronounced dead. The accident is still under investigation, the police said.

When fatal motorcycle accidents occur, loved ones are burdened not only with emotional trauma, but often with the deceased’s end-of-life expenses as well. These expenses may include the funeral, burial and the loss of income. In order to obtain some financial relief, they may choose to file a wrongful death claim in a New Jersey civil court. In order for such a claim to be successfully navigated, sufficient evidence that shows negligence on the part of the other driver must first be gathered, and an experienced attorney can help claimants with this process.
