Car accidents and the New Jersey bicyclists they often injure

Bicycles are a very popular method of transportation in and throughout New Jersey. Although they are excellent for exercise, recreation and commuting, they, unfortunately, do not provide a great deal of protection when car accidents occur. This is especially true when a bicyclist is struck by a car, as even the best helmet cannot do much to protect the rest of the cyclist's body against the force of such a large and powerful vehicle.

A recent car accident has left a man seriously injured. The accident occurred early in June in Franklin. According to local police, the victim, a 42-year-old man, had been riding in Franklin and a vehicle struck him from behind, then fled the scene of the accident.

Police responded to the 911 call and found the man on the side of the road. According to the authorities, he had suffered a serious head injury. He was immediately rushed to a nearby medical center.

Although the motorist has yet to be discovered or come forward to claim responsibility for the crash, authorities are on the lookout. If, once discovered, it is proved that the motorist acted negligently and his or her negligence caused bodily harm to occur to the bicyclist, the bicyclist may be entitled to file a personal injury claim. In New Jersey, successfully filed personal injury claims often result in financial compensation for the victims of car accidents. This compensation can be awarded to help the victim with medical costs, lost pay incurred while recovering, as well as pain and suffering. By contacting an experienced personal injury lawyer, a victim can begin this process and seek the justice he or she duly deserves.
