Recent New Jersey car accidents: 1 killed in fatal accident

On Behalf of | Apr 14, 2016 | Car Accidents |

A car accident that claimed the life of a New Jersey man occurred recently. The accident occurred in Vineland, Cumberland County on a recent early morning in March, Vineland Police say. When New Jersey residents are involved in similar fatal car accidents, their loved ones are typically entitled to file wrongful death suits in relation to the accidents.

A 23-year-old man was driving home after a night out with some of his friends. As he was driving back from Atlantic City with his friends as passengers in his vehicle, the man crashed his vehicle. Police say this occurred around 4:20 a.m.

One of the passengers in his vehicle later died as a result of injuries suffered in the accident, authorities said. Two others were also injured — one was flown to a local hospital due to a leg injury, while another was taken to a different medical center to be treated for minor injuries. The driver is now facing charges, including assault by auto, after driving drunk and crashing, police said. While the driver is being held in Cumberland County Jail, victims of the crash as well as their families must deal with the accident’s fallout.

Those who are injured or the families of those who are killed in car accidents in New Jersey may decide to pursue civil claims against the driver. A successfully litigated claim typically results in the entry of a monetary judgment — this can often help the victim or the victim’s family regain some normalcy. Consulting an experienced personal injury attorney is often the first step in this process.
